Prescription Policy

At Veterans Medical Supply, we strive to ensure that prescription-required products are provided safely and efficiently to our customers. This Prescription Policy outlines how we handle and process orders for medical equipment and supplies that require a valid prescription.

  1. Prescription Requirements

Certain durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies available on our website, such as CPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, and other specialized devices, require a valid prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. These items are clearly marked as "Prescription Required" on their product pages.

We cannot process or ship orders for prescription-required items without first receiving a valid prescription.

  1. Submitting a Prescription

You can submit your prescription in the following ways:

  • Email: Scan or take a photo of your prescription and send it to cs@vms.org.
  • Fax: Send your prescription directly to our secure fax line at (866) 678-8440.
  • Upload: Use the upload feature on our website during checkout to submit your prescription.

Once submitted, our team will review and verify your prescription. If the prescription is incomplete or invalid, we will contact you for further clarification before proceeding with the order.

  1. Prescription Validity

Prescriptions must include:

  • Patient's full name
  • Doctor’s name, signature, and contact information
  • Type of medical equipment being prescribed
  • Date of prescription issuance

Most prescriptions are valid for 12 months unless otherwise specified by the prescribing physician. For recurring orders, you may need to submit a new prescription if your previous one has expired.

  1. Prescription Refills and Renewals

For devices that require ongoing use (e.g., CPAP supplies), you will need to obtain a new prescription from your healthcare provider when the current one expires to continue purchasing the item.

  1. Prescription-Only Returns

Due to legal and health regulations, prescription-required items cannot be returned once opened unless they are defective. We highly recommend confirming with your healthcare provider that you have the correct product before ordering.

If an item is damaged or defective, please contact our customer service team at cs@vms.org to arrange for a replacement or refund.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a retail website, and we do not accept health insurance plans of any kind for payment or reimbursement of items purchased on this site.
